Sausage & Potato Casserole Recipe

A hearty and comforting casserole dish perfect for a weeknight meal or a cozy weekend dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound sausage, casings removed (any type you prefer, such as kielbasa, bratwurst, or Italian sausage)
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic in the sausage drippings until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, potatoes, onion mixture, cream of mushroom soup, milk, parsley, and pepper.
  4. Assemble Casserole: Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the casserole is bubbly and golden brown.
