Ingredients
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
- Optional: chopped green onions or bell peppers for extra flavor
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
- Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and let it cool slightly.
- Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Whisk wet ingredients in another bowl: milk, eggs, and melted butter.
- Combine everything: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry, then stir in the cooked sausage and shredded cheese. Add optional veggies if using.
- Spoon the mixture into the muffin tin, filling each cup about ¾ full.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly and enjoy warm or at room temperature. Perfect for breakfast or a snack!
