Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents Recipe

Flaky, buttery crescent rolls filled with a savory blend of sausage and creamy goodness. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an easy appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (regular or spicy)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Combine Filling Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions (if using), garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Preheat your oven according to the crescent roll package directions (usually 375°F or 190°C). Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Fill the Crescents: Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle.
  5. Roll and Shape: Roll up the dough from the wide end to the point, forming a crescent shape. Gently curve the ends to create a classic crescent shape.
  6. Egg Wash (Optional): If desired, brush the tops of the crescents with the beaten egg for a golden-brown finish.
  7. Bake: Place the filled crescents on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the crescents cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
