Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll dough (8-count)
  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (ground)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter for greasing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil or butter if desired.
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Break it up into small crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Reduce heat to low and add the cream cheese to the sausage. Stir until the cream cheese is completely melted and combined. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate the triangles on a clean surface.
  5. Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
  6. Roll up the dough from the wide end toward the point, pinching the edges to seal the filling inside.
  7. Arrange the rolled-up crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and the crescent rolls are fully cooked.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
