Sausage Breakfast Muffins Recipe

These hearty and delicious muffins are packed with savory sausage, cheese, and a hint of sweetness from maple syrup. They make the perfect grab-and-go breakfast or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound sausage, casings removed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin.
  2. Cook sausage: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheese, egg, milk, and maple syrup.
  4. Add dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.  
  5. Fill muffin tin: Divide the batter evenly among the greased muffin cups.
  6. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the muffins cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or cold.
