Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop and Bake: Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  6. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips for the Perfect Cookie:

  • Chill the Dough: For extra chewy cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • Don’t Overmix: Overmixing can lead to tough cookies. Mix just until the flour is incorporated.
  • Use Quality Chocolate Chips: Good quality chocolate chips will make a big difference in the flavor of your cookies.
  • Adjust Baking Time: Baking times may vary depending on your oven. Keep a close eye on the cookies and remove them from the oven when they are golden brown.

Enjoy these delicious, chewy cookies!
