Removing Grease From Kitchen Cabinets Recipe

This recipe provides a simple and effective method for removing grease and grime from your kitchen cabinets, leaving them looking clean and refreshed.

Ingredients:

  • Warm Water: 1 gallon
  • Mild Dish Soap: 1-2 tablespoons
  • White Vinegar: 1/2 cup
  • Baking Soda: 1/4 cup
  • Soft Cloths or Microfiber Towels: Several
  • Optional:
    • Essential Oil (like lemon or orange): A few drops (for a pleasant scent)
    • Rubber Gloves: To protect your hands

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Cleaning Solution:
    • Fill a large bucket or sink with warm water.
    • Add dish soap, white vinegar, and baking soda to the water.
    • Stir well to combine all ingredients.
    • Optionally, add a few drops of your preferred essential oil for a refreshing aroma.
  2. Clean the Cabinets:
    • Dip a clean cloth or microfiber towel into the cleaning solution.
    • Wring out the excess liquid.
    • Gently wipe down all surfaces of the cabinets, including doors, frames, and sides.
    • Pay close attention to areas with heavy grease buildup, such as around handles and knobs.
    • For stubborn grease, allow the cleaning solution to sit on the surface for a few minutes before wiping clean.
  3. Rinse and Dry:
    • Rinse the cabinets thoroughly with clean water using a damp cloth.
    • Dry the cabinets completely with a clean, dry cloth or towel to prevent water spots.

Tips:

  • Test in an inconspicuous area: Always test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the cabinets first to ensure it doesn’t damage the finish.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals: Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the cabinet’s finish.
  • Regular cleaning: Regular cleaning will prevent grease buildup and make future cleaning easier.
  • For extra shine: After drying, you can lightly polish the cabinets with a furniture polish designed for wood.
