Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour or bread flour
- 1 ½ cups (360ml) warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast – In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix the Dough – In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir with a spoon until a sticky dough forms.
- Rest the Dough – Cover with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape & Bake
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Dust a baking sheet with flour or line it with parchment paper.
- Transfer the dough onto the sheet, shaping it into a rustic loaf (no kneading needed!).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Cool & Enjoy – Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with butter, olive oil, or your favorite toppings!
🔥 Pro Tip: For an extra crispy crust, place a small oven-safe dish with hot water on the bottom rack while baking.
