Ingredients
- 500g (1 lb) Italian sausage (mild or spicy, casings removed)
- 1 egg
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for frying
- 2 cups tomato sauce (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the sausage meat, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a walnut.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the meatballs in batches until golden brown on all sides and fully cooked (about 8–10 minutes).
- If desired, add the cooked meatballs to a pot of simmering tomato sauce and cook for an additional 10 minutes for extra flavor.
- Serve hot with pasta, bread, or as an appetizer.
Would you like me to also give you a baked version (healthier, less oily) of these sausage meatballs?
