Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- Cook the beef and onion: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper. Drain any excess fat.
- Layer the filling: Spread the cooked beef and onion evenly in the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Make the batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth.
- Pour and bake: Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden.
- Cool and serve: Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, optionally with ketchup, pickles, or a simple salad on the side!
