- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (10 ounce) package mini marshmallows
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- Optional: 1/2 cup shredded coconut
Instructions:
- Combine Pineapple and Pudding: In a large bowl, combine the undrained crushed pineapple and the instant vanilla pudding mix. Stir well until the pudding mix is dissolved.
- Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until well combined.
- Add Marshmallows: Add the mini marshmallows and fold them into the mixture.
- Add Optional Ingredients: If desired, add the chopped nuts and/or shredded coconut and fold them in.
- Chill: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until chilled and set.
- Serve: Spoon the pineapple fluff into individual serving dishes and enjoy!
Variations:
- Pistachio Fluff: Use pistachio instant pudding mix instead of vanilla.
- Tropical Fluff: Add mandarin oranges or maraschino cherries for extra tropical flavor.
- Strawberry Fluff: Use strawberry instant pudding mix and add sliced strawberries.
- Jello Fluff: Add a small box of pineapple or lemon jello. Prepare the jello as per the box instructions, and let it set partially before adding to the recipe.
- Cream Cheese Fluff: combine 4 ounces of softened cream cheese with the pudding mix and pineapple for a richer flavor.
Tips:
- Ensure the whipped topping is fully thawed before folding it into the mixture for a smooth texture.
- For a sweeter dessert, add a few tablespoons of powdered sugar.
- For a more firm dessert, you can use a larger size pudding mix.
- This dessert can be made a day ahead of time.
