Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp chili flakes (optional, for a kick)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Wings:
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Make the Marinade:
- In a bowl, mix pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, ketchup, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
- Set aside 1/4 cup of the marinade for basting.
- Marinate:
- Place the wings in a large resealable bag or bowl. Pour the marinade over the wings, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
- Marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight for more flavor).
- Cook the Wings:
- Grill Method: Preheat grill to medium heat. Grill wings for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with the reserved marinade.
- Oven Method: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake for 35-40 minutes, turning and basting halfway through.
- Air Fryer Method: Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Caramelize:
- For a sticky, caramelized finish, broil or grill for an extra 2-3 minutes until slightly charred.
- Garnish:
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
