Pineapple Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional, for a kick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Wings:
    • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
    • Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Make the Marinade:
    • In a bowl, mix pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, ketchup, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
    • Set aside 1/4 cup of the marinade for basting.
  3. Marinate:
    • Place the wings in a large resealable bag or bowl. Pour the marinade over the wings, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
    • Marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight for more flavor).
  4. Cook the Wings:
    • Grill Method: Preheat grill to medium heat. Grill wings for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with the reserved marinade.
    • Oven Method: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake for 35-40 minutes, turning and basting halfway through.
    • Air Fryer Method: Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  5. Caramelize:
    • For a sticky, caramelized finish, broil or grill for an extra 2-3 minutes until slightly charred.
  6. Garnish:
    • Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
