Pillsbury’s Crescent Roll Taco Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend cheese)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions (optional)
  • Sour cream, salsa, and guacamole for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Meat Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens slightly.
  3. Prepare Crescent Roll Base:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, sealing any perforations.
  4. Assemble Taco Bake:
Spread the cooked taco meat evenly over the crescent roll dough.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top of the meat.
Add diced tomatoes, sliced olives, and chopped green onions if using.
  5. Add Crescent Roll Topping:
Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it over the filling, sealing edges as best as you can.
  6. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the crescent roll topping is golden brown.
  7. Serve:
Let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole if desired.
