Philly Steak Cheese Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) thinly sliced ribeye steak (or shaved beef)
  • 1 bag frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese (or Cheese Whiz for classic style)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries:
Cook the French fries according to package instructions (or make homemade fries) until golden and crispy.
  2. Cook the Steak:
Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers (and mushrooms, if using). Sauté for 3–4 minutes until they soften.
Push the veggies to the side and add the thinly sliced steak. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 3–5 minutes.
  3. Assemble the Fries:
Arrange the cooked fries on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish. Top with the cooked steak, peppers, and onions. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Melt the Cheese:
Place the tray under a broiler for 2–3 minutes, or bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve:
Remove from the oven, garnish with extra toppings if you like, and enjoy your cheesy, loaded Philly Steak Cheese Fries while hot!
