Philly Steak Cheese Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) thinly sliced ribeye steak (or shaved beef)
  • 1 bag frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese (or cheese sauce)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped parsley, jalapeños, hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook the Fries:
Bake or fry the French fries according to the package directions or your homemade recipe until crispy and golden. Keep warm.
  2. Cook the Steak:
Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions (and peppers, if using) and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
Add the sliced steak and cook, stirring frequently, until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble:
Arrange the hot fries on a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Top with the cooked steak and veggies. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Melt the Cheese:
Place under the broiler for 1–2 minutes, or bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley or jalapeños if desired. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces!
