Philly Steak Cheese Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) thinly sliced ribeye steak (or sirloin)
  • 1 bag frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or shredded mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra cheesiness)
  • Optional: cheese sauce for drizzling
  • Optional: sliced jalapeños for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bake or fry the fries: Prepare the French fries according to the package instructions (bake or deep fry) until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  2. Cook the steak: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned.
  3. Add veggies: Add sliced onion (and bell pepper if using) to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sauté for another 4–5 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the steak is cooked through.
  4. Assemble: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange cooked fries on a baking sheet or oven-safe platter. Top evenly with the cooked steak and vegetables. Sprinkle shredded provolone (and cheddar, if using) over the top.
  5. Melt the cheese: Bake for about 5–7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven, drizzle with cheese sauce if desired, and garnish with sliced jalapeños. Serve hot and enjoy your cheesy Philly steak fries!
