Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil, for frying
- Optional toppings: powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or glaze
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. - Combine wet ingredients
In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. - Make the batter
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until combined—do not overmix. - Heat oil
In a deep pan or pot, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C). - Shape doughnuts
Transfer batter to a piping bag or plastic bag with the corner snipped. Pipe small circles into the hot oil, or drop spoonfuls for doughnut holes. - Fry
Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. - Coat & serve
While warm, roll in cinnamon sugar, dust with powdered sugar, or dip in glaze. Serve immediately for best texture.
If you’d like, I can also give you a baked version of these mini doughnuts so they’re lighter but still fluffy. Would you like me to include that?
