Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- Optional: Cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar for coating
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat oil in a deep pan or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a small cookie scoop or a teaspoon, carefully drop small amounts of batter into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry each mini doughnut for about 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- While still warm, roll the mini doughnuts in cinnamon sugar or dust with powdered sugar.
