Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp melted butter (plus more for greasing)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for flavor
For coating:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat your mini doughnut maker (or preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C if using a mini doughnut pan).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and optional spices.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Lightly grease the doughnut maker or mini doughnut pan with butter.
- Spoon the batter into the molds, filling about 3/4 full.
- If using a mini doughnut maker: Close the lid and cook for 3–5 minutes until golden.
If baking in the oven: Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden and springy to touch. - Let cool slightly. Brush with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
