- ½ cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined (do not overmix).
- Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a small spoon or mini doughnut mold, carefully drop small portions of batter into the hot oil.
- Fry for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- While warm, toss in cinnamon sugar or dust with powdered sugar if desired.
