Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined (do not overmix).
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using a small spoon or mini doughnut mold, carefully drop small portions of batter into the hot oil.
