Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- Your favorite BBQ sauce or wing sauce (optional, for tossing or basting)
- Fresh chopped parsley or green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps them crisp up on the grill.
- Season: In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and cayenne (if using). Make sure the wings are evenly coated.
- Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375–400°F). If using a charcoal grill, prepare for indirect heat.
- Grill the Wings:
- Place the wings on the grill grates over direct heat.
- Grill for 20–25 minutes, turning every 5 minutes, until nicely charred and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Move to indirect heat if they begin to char too quickly before being cooked through.
- Sauce ‘Em Up (Optional): If using BBQ or wing sauce, toss the grilled wings in the sauce or brush them during the last few minutes of grilling for that sticky finish.
- Serve: Remove wings from grill, let rest a couple of minutes, then serve hot. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions, if desired.
