Pecan Praline Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup honey or light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Make the Crust: In a bowl, cream together the butter and 1/2 cup of the brown sugar until fluffy. Add the flour and salt, mixing until crumbly. Press this mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the Crust: Bake the crust for 15–18 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  4. Prepare Praline Topping: While the crust bakes, combine the remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar, honey (or corn syrup), heavy cream, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly and bring to a gentle boil. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans (and cinnamon if using).
  5. Top and Bake Again: Pour the praline mixture evenly over the warm crust. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, until the topping is bubbly and golden.
  6. Cool and Cut: Allow to cool completely in the pan. Once set, lift out the parchment (if used) and cut into bars.
  7. Serve: Enjoy your rich, buttery Pecan Praline Bars!
