Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup honey or light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Make the Crust: In a bowl, cream together the butter and 1/2 cup of the brown sugar until fluffy. Add the flour and salt, mixing until crumbly. Press this mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake the Crust: Bake the crust for 15–18 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Prepare Praline Topping: While the crust bakes, combine the remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar, honey (or corn syrup), heavy cream, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly and bring to a gentle boil. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans (and cinnamon if using).
- Top and Bake Again: Pour the praline mixture evenly over the warm crust. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, until the topping is bubbly and golden.
- Cool and Cut: Allow to cool completely in the pan. Once set, lift out the parchment (if used) and cut into bars.
- Serve: Enjoy your rich, buttery Pecan Praline Bars!
