INGREDIENTS
For the Brownie Layer:
- 1 box (18.3 oz) brownie mix (or your favorite homemade brownie recipe)
- Eggs, oil, and water as called for on the box
For the Pecan Pie Topping:
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 4 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups pecan halves
Instructions
- Prepare the Brownie Base:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Prepare the brownie batter according to package instructions and pour it into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the brownies are just set (they will continue baking with the topping).
- Make the Pecan Pie Topping:
- In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Stir in the pecan halves.
- Add the Topping and Bake Again:
- Carefully pour the pecan pie mixture over the partially baked brownies.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 25–30 minutes, or until the top is set and golden.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting.
- For clean slices, chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours before cutting with a sharp knife.
