Pecan Pie Bark recipe

This Pecan Pie Bark is a delicious twist on the classic holiday dessert! It’s an easy-to-make, sweet, and crunchy treat made with caramel, pecans, and a buttery crust. Perfect for gifting or snacking during the holiday season!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups whole pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • ½ tsp salt (optional, to taste)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Sheet:
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire sheet.
  2. Make the Caramel Topping:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir frequently until the mixture starts to bubble. Once it reaches a boil, cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt (if using).
  3. Add the Pecans:
Stir the chopped pecans into the caramel mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the Mixture:
Pour the caramel-pecan mixture evenly over the saltine crackers, spreading it gently with a spatula to cover all the crackers.
  5. Bake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the pecan bark for about 8-10 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbling and slightly darkened. Be careful not to overbake, as the caramel can burn quickly.
  6. Cool and Break:
Remove from the oven and let it cool completely. Once cooled, break the bark into pieces.
  7. Optional Chocolate Drizzle:
If desired, melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the bark for an extra layer of sweetness. Let the chocolate set before breaking into pieces.
  8. Store and Serve:
Store the Pecan Pie Bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Enjoy as a sweet snack or dessert!
