Peach Dumpling Casserole (Crescent Roll Delight)

DESCRIPTION:
This peach dumpling casserole is a warm, comforting dessert made with soft crescent roll dough wrapped around juicy peaches and baked in a rich buttery cinnamon sauce. What makes it extra special is the addition of lemon-lime soda, which creates a sweet, caramel-like syrup as it bakes. It’s simple, quick, and perfect for family gatherings or cozy evenings.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups fresh or canned peach slices (drained if canned)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (Sprite or Mountain Dew)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  3. Place peach slices on the wide end of each triangle and roll them up.
  4. Arrange the rolled dumplings in the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  6. Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  7. Gently pour the lemon-lime soda around (not directly on top of) the dumplings.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

TIPS:

  • Use fresh ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • Do not stir after adding soda; it helps form a delicious sauce.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
  • You can substitute peaches with apples or pears for variation.
  • For a richer taste, add a pinch of nutmeg along with cinnamon.
