PEACH COBBLER

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced fresh peaches (or 2 cans, drained)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish in the oven while it preheats.
  3. Sweeten the peaches: If using fresh peaches, toss them in 1/2 cup sugar and let sit for 10–15 minutes. If canned, skip this step.
  4. Mix the batter: In a bowl, combine flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  5. Pour batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish—do not stir.
  6. Spoon peaches over the batter, spreading them out evenly. Pour any peach juices on top.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon for extra flavor.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Cool slightly and serve warm—perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
