This whimsical cake is a playful take on the classic dirt cake. It’s perfect for kids’ birthdays or any occasion where you want to bring a smile. The “soil” is made from crushed Oreos, and the “worms” are gummy candies.

Ingredients:

  • For the “Soil”:
    • 1 package (15.3 oz) Oreo cookies
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • For the “Grass”:
    • 1 cup green sprinkles
  • For the “Worms”:
    • Gummy worms
  • For the “Flowers”:
    • Candy flowers or other colorful candies
  • For the “Pudding Layer”:
    • 2 (3.9 oz) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
    • 4 cups cold milk

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the “Soil”:
    • In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until finely crushed.
    • Pour the crushed Oreos into a large bowl and stir in the melted butter until evenly combined.
  2. Assemble the Cake:
    • Press half of the Oreo mixture into the bottom of a springform pan or a 9×13 inch baking dish.
    • Prepare the pudding according to package directions.
    • Pour the prepared pudding evenly over the Oreo crust.
    • Sprinkle the green sprinkles over the pudding layer to create the “grass.”
    • Press the remaining Oreo mixture on top of the green sprinkles to form the second layer of “soil.”
  3. Decorate:
    • Arrange the gummy worms on top of the “soil.”
    • Decorate with candy flowers or other colorful candies.
  4. Chill:
    • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  5. Serve:
    • Carefully remove the springform pan ring or cut the cake into squares.
