This whimsical cake is a playful take on the classic dirt cake. It’s perfect for kids’ birthdays or any occasion where you want to bring a smile. The “soil” is made from crushed Oreos, and the “worms” are gummy candies.
Ingredients:
- For the “Soil”:
- 1 package (15.3 oz) Oreo cookies
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- For the “Grass”:
- 1 cup green sprinkles
- For the “Worms”:
- Gummy worms
- For the “Flowers”:
- Candy flowers or other colorful candies
- For the “Pudding Layer”:
- 2 (3.9 oz) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
- 4 cups cold milk
Instructions:
- Prepare the “Soil”:
- In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until finely crushed.
- Pour the crushed Oreos into a large bowl and stir in the melted butter until evenly combined.
- Assemble the Cake:
- Press half of the Oreo mixture into the bottom of a springform pan or a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Prepare the pudding according to package directions.
- Pour the prepared pudding evenly over the Oreo crust.
- Sprinkle the green sprinkles over the pudding layer to create the “grass.”
- Press the remaining Oreo mixture on top of the green sprinkles to form the second layer of “soil.”
- Decorate:
- Arrange the gummy worms on top of the “soil.”
- Decorate with candy flowers or other colorful candies.
- Chill:
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours, or until set.
- Serve:
- Carefully remove the springform pan ring or cut the cake into squares.
