- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
- ½ cup whole milk or buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the orange zest and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with orange juice and milk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with an orange glaze before serving.
