Ingredients
Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ½ cup warm milk (110°F)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg

Filling:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
- Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Make the Filling:
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).
- Assemble the Rolls:
- Roll out the dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the surface.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side and slice into 12 even pieces.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Glaze and Serve:
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm cinnamon buns.
