One-Pot Smoky Honey BBQ Steak Pasta

INGREDENT

  • 1 lb (450g) steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced thin
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce (preferably smoky honey BBQ flavor)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 8 oz (225g) penne or rotini pasta (uncooked)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak:
Season sliced steak with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Sear the Steak:
In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear until browned (about 2–3 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics:
In the same pot, reduce heat to medium. Add onions and cook until softened (2–3 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add Liquids & Pasta:
Pour in the beef broth, BBQ sauce, and honey. Stir well, then add uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil.
  5. Simmer:
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes or until pasta is cooked and liquid is mostly absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Creamy Finish:
Stir in heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Return the seared steak to the pot and stir to coat everything evenly.
  7. Serve:
Garnish with chopped green onions and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
