Nut Custard Cream Dessert Recipe

A creamy, rich dessert made with a luscious nut custard base and topped with a smooth layer of whipped cream. Perfect for any occasion, this dessert blends the earthy flavors of nuts with the sweet creaminess of custard for an unforgettable treat.

Ingredients:

  • For the custard:
    • 2 cups whole milk
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 3 large egg yolks
    • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup finely ground nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, or walnuts)
  • For the topping:
    • 1 cup whipped cream
    • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the custard:
    • In a medium saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally. Do not boil.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and cornstarch until smooth. Gradually add a small amount of the warm milk mixture to the yolks, whisking constantly to temper.
    • Slowly pour the tempered yolk mixture back into the saucepan, whisking continuously. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 5–7 minutes).
    • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and ground nuts. Pour the custard into serving glasses or bowls and let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  2. Whip the cream:
    • In a chilled bowl, beat heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spoon or pipe the whipped cream over the chilled custard.
  3. Garnish and serve:
    • Sprinkle with chopped nuts for garnish. Serve chilled and enjoy!
