Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (100-110°F)
- 2 tbsp oil (vegetable, olive, or your choice)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix well.
- Gradually add the warm water and oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough to release the air. Divide it into 6-8 equal portions and shape each into a ball.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet or cast iron pan over medium heat.
- Lightly grease the pan with a small amount of oil or cooking spray.
- Flatten each dough ball into a disc about 1/2 inch thick and place in the preheated pan.
- Cook each bread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Adjust heat as necessary to avoid burning.
- Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
