No-Oven Stovetop Bread – Don’t Lose This Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm water (add more if needed)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Gradually stir in warm water and olive oil until a soft dough forms. If it’s too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time.
  3. Knead: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide and Rest: Divide dough into 6 equal balls. Let them rest covered with a damp cloth for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Roll Out: Roll each ball into a round flatbread, about ¼-inch thick.
  6. Cook: Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface. Cook each flatbread for about 2–3 minutes per side or until golden spots appear and the bread puffs slightly.
  7. Serve: Serve warm with butter, dips, soups, or as a sandwich wrap!
