Made with a mix of dried fruits, nuts, and flavorful spices, it requires no baking and is ready to enjoy after a few hours of chilling. Ingredients:
- 2 cups of mixed dried fruits (raisins, apricots, cherries, etc.)
- 1 cup of crushed graham crackers or digestive biscuits
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)
- 1/2 cup of honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup of fruit juice (orange or apple)
- 1/4 cup of rum or brandy (optional)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
- A pinch of salt
- Optional: dried coconut flakes for topping
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the mixed dried fruits and chopped nuts. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix the crushed graham crackers or digestive biscuits with the cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the honey (or maple syrup), fruit juice, and rum (if using) until well combined. Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
