Ingredients
- 1 medium lemon (preferably organic)
- 1–2 inches of fresh ginger root
- 1–2 tablespoons of raw honey (preferably organic)
- 2 cups of water
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients:
Peel the ginger and slice it into thin rounds. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a cup. You can also slice a few lemon rounds to steep if you prefer. - Boil the Water:
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small saucepan. - Steep Ginger:
Add the sliced ginger to the boiling water. Let it simmer for 5–10 minutes, depending on how strong you like the ginger flavor. - Add Lemon & Honey:
Remove the saucepan from heat. Let it cool slightly (about 1–2 minutes), then stir in the fresh lemon juice and honey. Avoid adding honey to boiling hot water to preserve its nutrients. - Serve Warm:
Pour into a mug and enjoy warm. Drink 1 cup in the morning on an empty stomach or in the evening for best results.
Tip:
You can also blend all ingredients and store the mixture in a jar in the fridge. Use 1 tablespoon of the mixture in warm water each morning for a quick detox boost.
