Description:
Crispy, golden potatoes sautéed with sweet onions — a simple dish that never lasts long! Perfect as a side or even as a main for breakfast or lunch.
Ingredients:
- 4–5 medium potatoes, sliced or cubed
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 3–4 tbsp butter or oil (or a mix of both)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Optional: paprika, garlic powder, or fresh herbs for extra flavor
Instructions:
- Wash, peel (optional), and slice or cube the potatoes evenly.
- Slice the onions thinly.
- Heat butter or oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the potatoes and onions to the pan. Stir to coat them evenly.
- Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are golden brown and crispy, and onions are caramelized (about 20–30 minutes).
- Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices to taste.
- Serve hot and watch it disappear!
Tips:
- For extra crispiness, soak potato slices in water for 15–20 minutes before cooking, then dry them well.
- Use a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan for even browning.
- Avoid overcrowding the pan — cook in batches if needed.
- Add fresh herbs like parsley or thyme at the end for a fresh touch.
