My Husband’s Famous Fried Potatoes with OnionsHe’s been making this for over 10 years…

Description:

Crispy, golden potatoes sautéed with sweet onions — a simple dish that never lasts long! Perfect as a side or even as a main for breakfast or lunch.

Ingredients:

  • 4–5 medium potatoes, sliced or cubed
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 3–4 tbsp butter or oil (or a mix of both)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: paprika, garlic powder, or fresh herbs for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Wash, peel (optional), and slice or cube the potatoes evenly.
  2. Slice the onions thinly.
  3. Heat butter or oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  4. Add the potatoes and onions to the pan. Stir to coat them evenly.
  5. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are golden brown and crispy, and onions are caramelized (about 20–30 minutes).
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices to taste.
  7. Serve hot and watch it disappear!

Tips:

  • For extra crispiness, soak potato slices in water for 15–20 minutes before cooking, then dry them well.
  • Use a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan for even browning.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan — cook in batches if needed.
  • Add fresh herbs like parsley or thyme at the end for a fresh touch.
