Ingredients
- 1 whole garlic bulb (or as many as you’d like)
- 2 cups water
- Optional: a pinch of salt, honey, or lemon
Instructions
- Peel the outer layers off the garlic bulb, leaving the individual cloves in their skins.
- Bring the water to a boil in a small pot.
- Add the whole garlic bulb (or separated cloves) to the boiling water.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10–15 minutes, until the garlic becomes soft and the aroma is released.
- Remove the garlic from the water. You can squeeze the soft cloves out of their skins and eat them directly, mash them into soups, or spread on bread.
- (Optional) Add a bit of honey or lemon to the garlic water and drink it as a warm, soothing tea — it’s believed to help with immunity and digestion!
Tip: Boiled garlic is milder, easier to digest, and many people use it for its potential health benefits, like boosting immunity or soothing a cold.
