INGREDIENTS
- 3 large potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander or parsley (chopped)
- 1 green chili (optional, finely chopped)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric (optional, for color)
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder or seeds
- 1 egg (for coating)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)
- 1–2 tbsp oil (for shallow frying or spray for air frying)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Prepare the Mash
In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chili, coriander, spices, and salt. Mix well until fully blended. - Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into small round patties or oval croquettes. - Coat for Crispiness
Beat the egg in a small bowl. Dip each patty in the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a tray. - Cook
- For pan-frying: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry each patty until golden brown on both sides (about 3–4 minutes per side).
- For air-frying: Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Spray the patties with a bit of oil and air-fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Serve Hot
Serve warm with chutney, ketchup, or yogurt dip.
