Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh loquats, peeled, pitted, and chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine chopped loquats, lemon juice, water, and sweetener.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the loquats are soft and syrupy.
- Add cinnamon if using and stir well.
- Let cool slightly, then blend into a smooth puree (or leave chunky for a compote-style sauce).
- Serve over yogurt, toast, ice cream—or enjoy by the spoonful!
