My 14-Year-Old Daughter Made TURTLE CARAMEL CAKE Last Night

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar (12 oz) caramel sauce or topping
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

For Topping:

  • Extra caramel sauce for drizzling
  • Whipped cream or Cool Whip (optional)
  • Extra pecans and chocolate chips (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Pour half the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 15 minutes.
  3. While it bakes, mix together the caramel sauce and melted butter in a bowl.
  4. After 15 minutes, remove the cake from the oven. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the warm cake.
  5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped pecans over the caramel layer.
  6. Gently spoon the remaining cake batter on top to cover the filling.
  7. Return the cake to the oven and bake for an additional 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool slightly before serving.
  9. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce and top with whipped cream, pecans, or chocolate chips if desired.

🎉 Enjoy every gooey, chocolatey, caramel bite!
