Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs

Instructions
- Prepare the pastry:
a. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
b. In a medium saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil.
c. Reduce heat to low and add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
d. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
e. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and shiny. - Shape and bake:
a. Using a spoon or piping bag, drop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
b. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Avoid opening the oven door while baking.
c. Remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack. - Make the filling:
a. In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. - Assemble the cream puffs:
a. Slice the cooled pastry shells in half horizontally.
b. Fill the bottom halves with whipped cream, then replace the tops. - Finish and serve:
a. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate if desired.
b. Serve immediately and enjoy!
