- 3 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 2 eggs
- 250g (about 1/2 lb) minced meat (beef or chicken)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 2 tablespoons oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the potatoes: Grate the potatoes and squeeze out excess moisture using a clean towel or cheesecloth.
- Cook the meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the minced meat with chopped onion and garlic until browned and fully cooked. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Let it cool slightly.
- Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, cooked meat mixture, eggs, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Shape the patties: Take a handful of the mixture and shape into small patties or pancakes.
- Cook the patties: Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties for about 3–4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, yogurt, or a simple salad.
