Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. - Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, combine milk, yogurt, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well. - Combine
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined – do not overmix. - Heat Oil
In a deep pot, heat oil over medium heat to about 350°F (175°C). - Form Doughnuts
Use a small scoop or spoon to drop batter into the hot oil (about 1-inch balls). Fry a few at a time. - Fry Until Golden
Cook for about 2–3 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown and cooked through. - Drain & Coat
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still warm, roll doughnuts in granulated sugar. - Serve Warm
