Mini Doughnuts Recipe

These bite-sized treats are perfect for a crowd or a sweet afternoon snack.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.
  4. Heat Oil: In a deep saucepan or Dutch oven, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature.
  5. Fry Doughnuts: Using a small ice cream scoop or a spoon, drop small spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  6. Drain: Remove the doughnuts from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Dust with Powdered Sugar: Once cooled slightly, dust the mini doughnuts generously with powdered sugar.

Tips & Variations:

  • For extra flavor: Add 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the dry ingredients.
  • Glaze: For a simple glaze, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled doughnuts.
  • Dips: Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or fruit dips.
  • Equipment: You can use a mini doughnut maker for a faster and easier cooking process.

Enjoy your delicious homemade mini doughnuts!
