Mini Doughnuts Recipe

These delightful mini doughnuts are perfect for any occasion! Light, fluffy, and coated in your favorite toppings, they’re a fun treat for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying (or use a doughnut maker)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Doughnut Maker or Frying Oil: If using a doughnut maker, preheat it. If frying, heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fill Doughnut Molds or Fry:
    • For a doughnut maker, spoon batter into the molds, filling each about 3/4 full. Close the lid and cook according to manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 5-7 minutes.
    • For frying, carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown (about 1-2 minutes per side). Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Coat and Serve: Once cooled slightly, you can coat your doughnuts in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or your favorite glaze. Enjoy!
