  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz)
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and garlic over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  5. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Layer 3 cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  7. Spread one-third of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  8. Sprinkle one-third of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Repeat layers twice, ending with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  12. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
