Million Dollar Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 box lasagna noodles (regular or oven-ready)
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook Meat Sauce:
    • In a large skillet or pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef, Italian sausage, and diced onion until browned.
    • Drain excess fat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
    • Stir in marinara sauce, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Make Cheese Filling:
    • In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and egg. Mix until smooth.
  4. Assemble Lasagna:
    • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Layer with lasagna noodles.
    • Spread some of the cheese mixture over noodles.
    • Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
    • Repeat layers: sauce, noodles, cheese mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan until all ingredients are used, ending with meat sauce and a final topping of mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake for an additional 20–25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Let lasagna rest for at least 10–15 minutes before slicing.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Enjoy your Million Dollar Lasagna — rich, creamy, cheesy, and worth every bite!
