Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2–3 lemons)
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest (optional, for extra zing)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, pour in the cold heavy whipping cream. Whip with a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
- Gently add the sweetened condensed milk and continue to whip until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest (if using). Mix on low speed just until combined and smooth — the lemon juice will slightly thicken the mixture.
- Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes for best texture — but you can enjoy it right away too!
- Garnish with extra zest, whipped cream, or fresh berries if desired.
Tips:
- Make sure your cream is very cold for best whipping.
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding a bit more condensed milk or a tablespoon of powdered sugar if you like it sweeter.
- This is a quick, fresh-set mousse — no gelatin or baking needed!
