Meatballs with Potatoes and Cheese

Ingredients


For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or pork (or a mix of both)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatballs:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, parsley, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
    • Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized meatballs and set aside.
  2. Cook the Meatballs:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the meatballs on all sides until golden brown (they don’t need to be fully cooked). Remove and set aside.
  3. Assemble the Dish:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a baking dish lightly with olive oil. Arrange the sliced potatoes in overlapping layers. Sprinkle with oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.
