Maraschino Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt  
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar  
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract  
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips  
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped  

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and cherries: Stir in chocolate chips and chopped cherries until evenly distributed.
  7. Bake: Drop by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Cool: Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
