Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 ½ cups warm water (around 110°F)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (or any vegetable oil)
- 1 tbsp honey (optional for extra sweetness)
- 2 tbsp butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine the warm water, olive oil, and honey (if using).
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring as you go until a dough forms. You may need to use your hands to bring the dough together.
- Once the dough has formed, knead it on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean towel. Let it rise for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air and form it into a loaf shape. Place it into the prepared loaf pan.
- Cover the loaf with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Brush the top with melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow the bread to cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan. Let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Enjoy your fluffy, airy bread!
